Not a good book.

I took a class using this book last semester. The only other review made on this book was dead on. For a text book in it's fourth edition, it is loaded with errors. As a text book, in organization of the subject matter, I think it's logically laid out. But if there's no teacher to ferret out the errors in it, you will go mad trying to figure out where you went wrong. You cannot pick up this book and go through it on your own. I really don't believe there is a good excuse for such poor proof reading, and failure to make corrections, especially in a fourth edition, and even more a text book. Also, the class I took used the authors test questions. ALL were word problems, every single question. I found the questions less than straight foreword and clear. Nobody in the class I was in ever obtaind a 100% correct test score. I find that word problems are used primarily to try to confuse the people they are used on. This is a tatic that many organizations that have certifications use in their testing. They use it to trip you up in a question. The author succeeds in this very well. I inquired to the teacher of the class about the way the questions were written, and his explination to me was "To get you to think outside of the box"? This is supposed to be math, not a guessing game. I seriously do not recommend this book, for any reason. I suggest you check the class, and if this book is being used, don't take that class.

This book is pretty self explanatory. Provides the equations for the class homework. Study Study Study. Book had tear out pages which were great too!
