Sensible Advice

This book was a good read. It went to the point and provided you with good, practical information. It also encourages you to challenge yourself in certain areas and tells you how to go about it. Not bad as a starting guide for dating advice.

Dating advice to make sure you stay out of the friend zone

Dating is an important part of life, whether you are male or female, and I truly believe for it to be an effective partnership or even friendship. It must be viewed from the perspective of both individuals. Which is why I went looking for a book that would allow me to see dating from a woman’s perspective and this book certainly did that very well. It help me enter the mindset of a woman in the dating scene and understand exactly what they are looking for in a partner. This book was geared toward making sure that you stayed out of the friend zone and were able to establish a solid basis for a romantic relationship while still being able to establish a healthy friendship as part of your relationship.

This book talked about some very interesting things such as that a woman should not allow their partner to be the only opinion in the relationship and I must admit that I’ve had a few relationships in my time in which I did feel that more often than not, my partner was saying or agreeing with what she thought I wanted to hear either. In order to avoid conflict or simply make me like her more and in all honesty I appreciate a woman who not only has the courage to voice her opinion, but can also back it up with a logical thought process and solid information as well as have a spirited discussion without getting defensive or angry.

I did find it interesting that the book suggested that a woman should not simply be “one of the guys” as this is a surefire way to end up in the “friend zone” which is exactly what you don’t want. However, it has been my experience that most guys want a woman that can be “one of the guys” and still be very feminine and romantic when the occasion calls for it, as I’m sure most women like a man that can chop wood like Paul Bunyan or fix a car like a NASCAR mechanic as well as many other manly arts but is also willing to get in touch with the sensitive side and admit that he enjoys poetry or cooking and is willing to share his feelings. The trick is to find the balance and demonstrate that you are a well-rounded person, whether you’re male or female. This book definitely gave me a lot to think about and the next time you go on a date I will have a whole new perspective to filter through overall I’m very pleased with my purchase. The information was easy to understand everything was well spaced out in easy to find chapters. There was no convoluted information that required a psychology degree to understand. So whether you are a man wanting to understand what a woman is thinking or a woman trying to stay out of the “friend zone”, you should definitely give this book a try. I highly doubt you will be disappointed.

This is more than just a dating book. This is a book that teaches any girl how to become a confident and charming lady, no matter who she talks to. I love the layout of the book - for each chapter, you get key content, key takeaways and action guides. The tips offered in this book will definitely help you become more confident and charismatic communicator. One of my favorite sections is how Emily teaches you how to tell stories to attract others' attention - you should quickly get to the action of the story, instead of giving others a laundry list of what you have done for an event. This is a habit I often run into. And my friends often say that I don't get to the point quick enough. Now I should really seriously consider working on this!

All in all, great book and lots of value!

A complex topic well explained, nicely written

This is an excellent overview of the essential things any engineer, scientist or technologist would need to get a good initial grasp on the field of biodegradation. It's not overly complcated and deals more with theory than calculations. It came out in a second edition in 1999 so it should be updated with more on anaerobic biodegradation and phytoremediation. Overall though it's a great text that could easily be adopted for an intro level course on the topic. Microbiologists and environmental engineers would benefit from having this book.

Heartbreaking story beautifully written.

The story begins with Maria, who is leaving her daughter, Sonja, and husband, Bojan. Forever. The images and sounds of the snow falling as she leaves her daughter are absolutely one of the finest passages I have read in a long time. I went back to it after I finished the book and it meant so much more. I could feel the snow and the despair of this family acutely the second time. Richard Flanagan takes us through present and past to tell this story, using prose that speaks like poetry. There were sentences I just read repeatedly because they were written so well. It is a sad book, beyond heartbreaking at times when we see how much hurt each member of this family has borne. There were times when I hated Bojan as much as his daughter did, but when his full story is revealed, he must be understood and forgiven.
The book ends with hope and redemption, and it is believeable and welcome. This book, its characters, images, and symbolism in the writing, are unforgettable.
This is another example of a superior novel that begs to be read by a larger audience.

gorgeous story that comes full circle

Absolutely beautiful story of people who lose each other and the heartbreaking, vulnerable steps taken to find each other again.
I found that real emotion pored out of this book of real people, people with flaws, people who can't say the words that they know others need to hear. So much of the style reminded me of Alice Hoffman's books. An absolute beautiful story that I won't tire of reading.

For the first time in a very long time I could not finish this book. I had no clue where the author was going. Very boring, hardly any dialogue ... Just couldn't connect with the story line.

Better than O.K.

The book itself is just right for beginners in the study of health science. It is adequate for health care professionals other than physicians.
As a purchase, it was better than O.K. It cost me a fraction of the market price, it arrived within a matter of days, much earlier than promised. The condition of the book is NOT great, but I could not expect much from an used book.

very helpful study book

i studied only this book for this portion of the LARE and found it to be very helpful. the test in this booklet is actually harder in my opinion than the LARE, so if you can ace this book, you'll pass the real thing.
